Chandeluer Island Fishing

Come experience world class wade fishing for speckled trout and redfish with Capt Kyle Johnson aboard his brand new 2021 Blue Wave Boats 2800 Makaira along the pristine chandeluer islands. This is a one of a kind experience you will never forget. These trips begin at safe light and end when the clients are satisfied. Capt Kyle’s main focus is putting you on big speckled trout with artificial lures, but can be tailored to your needs. The versatility of the 2800 Makaira allows Capt Kyle to go ANYWHERE the fish are. These trips could start at one end of the islands and end at the other if that’s what needs to be done to find fish. The Makaira fits 6 passengers comfortably and is able to cruise at 40+mph. Add the fact that the boat is able to run and float in super shallow water and you will see it’s perfect for these trips.

*****Even though chandeluer islands are in Louisiana waters we will still adhere to Mississippi regulations for creel and size limits. This will allow us to fish Mississippi barrier islands on the way in if desired. This also opens the ability to stop for triple tail and cobia. The reason for this is because the regulations state if fishing Louisiana waters from Mississippi waters the vessel must not stop at any time to or from Louisiana waters. Also if fishing Louisiana waters you will be required to purchase a charter passenger license for $10. Capt Kyle will encourage all trout over 20” be released, but it will be up to the customer. All trout over 23” will be released.

Nearshore

Nearshore trips consist of fishing 15-30 miles off the Mississippi Coast in the Gulf of Mexico. We will explore the very unique Barrier Islands (Horn Island, Ship Island, Petit Bois Island, Cat Island) and beyond in search of BIG fish. You can expect to experience a wide range of fishing styles during this trip including; bottom fishing, trolling, sight fishing and much more! Targeted species are Bull Redfish, Jack Crevalle, Bull Sharks, Blacktip Sharks, Tiger Sharks, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Tarpon, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper and Triple Tail.

Inshore

Inshore trips consist of fishing the diverse waters on the Mississippi Coast. These areas stretch from the Back Bay and River Systems to 3 miles out into the Mississippi Sound. The targeted species are Redfish, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Jack Crevalle, Flounder, White Trout, Stripe Bass, Alligator Gar, and Largemouth bass.

Wade Fishing

These trips consist of wade fishing along the Mississippi Barrier islands. While the main target will be Speckled Trout and Redfish there is no telling what will hit your line. If you are beginner Capt Kyle will show you all his tips and tactics for successfully targeting fish while wade fishing. If you are more experienced and are looking to specifically target big Speckled Trout this trip is for you! You can bring all your own wade gear or Capt Kyle can supply everything you need. This trips are artificial lures only. If you do not have many artificial lures or would like Capt Kyle to supply with the lures you need he will be happy to do so. These trips are offered year round with waders only needed during the Fall, Winter, and Spring months. Typically around the May time frame waders will not be needed, but wade boots are recommended.
